SIS Primary School

At Sky International School (SIS), our Primary School welcomes students from the Foundation Stage through Year 5, offering a dynamic and supportive environment where a lifelong love of learning is cultivated. Our experienced and caring teachers guide students through a stimulating curriculum that encourages curiosity, growth, and resilience.

At the core of our philosophy is the individual development of each child. We maintain high standards of behaviour and use positive reinforcement to motivate students, ensuring they thrive in a safe and nurturing setting. Our dedicated educators set ambitious goals and work closely with each student to help them succeed across academic and co-curricular areas. Most importantly, our school is a place where children feel valued, secure, and empowered to learn through both their efforts and their mistakes. Laughter, enthusiasm, and energy fill our classrooms and playgrounds as students and staff embrace every moment of school life.

We believe strongly in the partnership between school, parents, and students—a collaborative effort that is essential to creating the best learning experiences and outcomes for every child.

We warmly invite you to visit SIS and experience firsthand the vibrant, joyful, and engaging environment that defines our school community. Please contact us to arrange a tour—we look forward to welcoming your family.

Lower Primary Curriculum

This stage includes Years 1 and 2 and focuses on the core subjects of Mathematics, English, and Science, along with foundation subjects such as Information and Communication Technology (ICT), Art, Music, Character Education, PSHE (Personal, Social, Health and Economic Education), and Physical Education. In addition, at Sky International School (SIS), students begin learning Kyrgyz and Russian from Year 1, with instruction continuing through all key stages.

During these foundational years of primary education, students are encouraged to engage in both hands-on and academic learning experiences. Their progress is closely monitored to ensure steady development in all areas. At SIS, we promote a sense of pride in achievement and foster independence and self-confidence. Special attention is given to nurturing the social and emotional well-being of every child, helping them grow into capable, compassionate learners.

Upper Primary Curriculum

Key Stage 2: Years 3 to 5

Years 3 & 4 – First Half of Key Stage 2

During these years, students engage in a cross-curricular approach where multiple subjects are integrated under common themes. This method promotes a dynamic and engaging learning environment that nurtures curiosity and supports the development of independent learning skills. In Year 3, homework expands beyond reading and spelling to include regular written assignments, which become more advanced in Year 4.

Year 5 – Second Half of Key Stage 2

As students move into the latter part of Key Stage 2, they are encouraged to take on increased responsibility and show greater independence in both their academic and personal development. Emphasis is placed on leadership, self-discipline, and strong organizational skills. These qualities are reflected in their study habits, behavior, and interactions with peers and staff.
